CCTV installation in Kolkata

CCTV installation for Kolkata businesses

Kolkata has long been the trading and distribution gateway for eastern India, and much of that business still runs through godowns in Howrah, Dankuni, Kona and along the Durgapur Expressway. These sheds hold mixed goods in deep racks, move stock by hand and by truck, and often operate late into the evening. Camera coverage has to follow the goods: gate, dock, aisles and the despatch desk where paperwork is signed.

In the older commercial centre around Burrabazar, BBD Bagh and Park Street, traders and firms occupy upper floors of crowded buildings where space for a recorder is scarce and wiring is decades old. Newer offices in Salt Lake Sector V and New Town look more like any IT park. For all three settings we supply IP or analogue cameras and NVR or DVR recorders, and maintain them under a non-comprehensive AMC.

Our only office is our headquarters in Bengaluru. In Kolkata, ITVerse dispatches its local technical partner once you approve the quotation, and we remain your contact for support and warranty claims.

Areas we work in include

  • Salt Lake Sector V
  • New Town (Rajarhat)
  • Park Street and Camac Street
  • BBD Bagh (Dalhousie)
  • EM Bypass
  • Ballygunge
  • Howrah

Local considerations

What matters for CCTV installation in Kolkata

Humidity and monsoon waterlogging

Kolkata’s long humid season and heavy monsoon, with waterlogging in many neighbourhoods, are hard on outdoor connectors and anything installed low. We use cameras with suitable IP ratings, seal every outdoor joint, keep recorders and power supplies well above floor level, and look for condensation inside domes and corrosion on terminals during preventive visits.

Deep racks and godown aisles

In a godown with high, deep racking, a single wide camera at one end sees only the first few bays. Cameras mounted along each main aisle, plus coverage of the loading dock and the gate, give a far more useful record of stock movement. Low-light models help where godown lighting is dim after working hours.

Old buildings and unstable power

Heritage-era buildings in central Kolkata often have shared meters, ageing wiring and frequent voltage fluctuation. Recorders and PoE switches should sit on a UPS with a stabiliser where needed, and cable is best run in surface conduit rather than chased into old plaster. Neat routing also keeps landlords and neighbouring tenants on side.

FAQ

CCTV installation in Kolkata: FAQs

Who does the site work in Kolkata?

Our local technical partner in Kolkata carries out surveys, installation and AMC visits. We have no office in Kolkata, so visit dates are planned ahead and listed in the quotation. Send your site address and a brief requirement to info@itverse.in or call +91 81500 17386.

Can CCTV cover several godowns and one head office?

Yes. Each godown can keep its own recorder, with all of them viewable from the head office and on authorised phones over the internet. The cameras at every site can sit under one AMC, with a visit schedule per location and parts quoted separately when replacements are needed.

Should we choose HD analogue or IP cameras for an old building?

If the building already has working coaxial cable from an earlier system, HD analogue cameras with a new DVR can reuse it and limit fresh wiring. If you are rewiring anyway or need higher resolution and easier expansion, IP cameras with an NVR are usually the better long-term choice.
